Lyn C. – The Main Voice Behind Ragged Writers

I’m a recent college graduate with a degree in English and a minor in Professional Writing. After college ended, I began the long journey of finding who I am and who I want to be. What have I figured out since graduating in May of 2013? Not a whole lot. As a person, I am always changing, but the two things that will always remain the same are my loves of reading and writing. Do I believe it takes a college degree to become a successful writer? Nope!

The life of a writer is one of constant creativity and one where learning and expanding is a daily job. Can you be taught to be a writer? Maybe… But my firm belief is that writing comes from the individual’s soul. It’s more than a talent or skill, it is a lifestyle. Its that believe that lead me to co-create the Ragged Writer’s community.

Nu Tael – The Other Voice, The Other Story

Once upon a time…

There was a person who lived and created. A jack of all trades, master of none, this person creates in different mediums. One happens to be writing. Still chained to the constraints of college this person continues to adventure and explore both life and creativity. Still a student of the world the traveler of life continues to try and find balance between reality and imagination. After all art is reality and reality is art.

So how does one become a writer? By being alive. So if you don’t have a pulse then I can only instruct you into a school of zombies where they will teach you about life. Not thinking of yourself as rotting, but as fermenting but I digress… When one writes one tells a story. Each and every day we live is our personal story. How we see the world is our own personal genre. All it takes is the time to brainstorm and putting the pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) to let the journey begin.
